Volskaya Industries Map Tier List - Best Hero Rankings - July 2016 Edition

Volskaya Industries is another assault-based map, but differs from Temple of Anubis and Hanamura in that the initial chokepoint centers around the truck in the middle, which makes maneuvering around it difficult and allows heroes like Roadhog to capitalize on enemies rounding the corner during the first objective.

On the second half of this map, moving platforms offer a big advantage for McCree and allow him to release some very deadly high noons.

SEASON 1 - JUNE 30TH PATCH TIER LIST
Volskaya Industries Assault Map

Introduction

Volskaya Industries is another assault-based map, but differs from Temple of Anubis and Hanamura in that the initial chokepoint centers around the truck in the middle, which makes maneuvering around it difficult and allows heroes like Roadhog to capitalize on enemies rounding the corner during the first objective.

On the second half of this map, moving platforms offer a big advantage for McCree and allow him to release some very deadly high noons.

General Tips

  1. In the beginning, setting up defenses behind the truck or even a bit further back will allow your team to stay safe against the relatively open entrance.
  2. This map is more friendly towards offense than other assault maps, as heroes can flank around the sides to the objective point where most players do not have a line of sight from the entrance.
  3. Utilizing the backdoor entrance below will allow you to avoid the chokepoint completely, especially if the enemy is set up too close too the entrance (video by 04AM)

Explanations

Mercy [God Tier] - Mercy's ability to fly around the back allows her to have more flexibility in terms of team strategy compared to Lucio on this map.

Widowmaker [Tier 1] - As usual, Widowmaker is not that good on offense for the most part, but her ability to traverse the backdoor allows her more flexibility on offense as long as you are good with her.

McCree [Tier 2] - McCree is largely outclassed by Soldier:76 in the first part of the map, but the second objective does allow him to get in some slick ultimates as a result of the moving platforms.

Tracer [Tier 2] - Although Tracer does have the ability to navigate into the back of the map via the jump depicted above, her HP is incredibly low, so she needs to be very wary not to get picked off by a stray Torb turret before she can deal damage.

Explanations

Bastion [Tier 1] - On this map Bastion is slightly weaker than Torb simply because of the multi-directional threat. Where Torb's turrets will quickly announce heroes flanking from the back, Bastion just presents his extra critical hit spot.

Roadhog [Tier 1] - Roadhog is very good on this map early on for his hook, but falls off a bit during Objective B.
