Lijiang Tower Map Tier List - Best Hero Rankings - July 2016 Edition

Similar to Ilios, Lijiang Tower is a Control Map that favors heroes that can reach the control point quickly (aka Lucio Tower). Additionally, this map also features narrow bridges where players can quickly fall to their deaths. For a prime example, see this video featuring a Pharah early game pentakill with a single Concussive Blast.

SEASON 1 - JUNE 30TH PATCH TIER LIST
Lijiang Tower Control Map

Introduction

Similar to Ilios, Lijiang Tower is a Control Map that favors heroes that can reach the control point quickly (aka Lucio Tower). Additionally, this map also features narrow bridges where players can quickly fall to their deaths. For a prime example, see this video featuring a Pharah early game pentakill with a single Concussive Blast.

General Tips

  1. Make sure to use Lucio's boosted speed boost at the start of the game so your team can setup sooner than the enemy team, especially if they do not have a Lucio themselves.
  2. Characters with knockback abilities are extremely good for getting free cheese kills on the first two levels.
  3. Hanging back a little on Night Market to snipe opponents running towards the control point may result in some beneficial tactical advantages.
  4. If your team wipes, make sure to group up before trying to push back into the control point.

Explanations

Junkrat [God Tier] - Junkrat is one of the defense heroes that work extremely well on this map. As a result of the climbable walls and low windows the objective point has, his rip-tire scores some easy kills.

McCree [Tier 1] - McCree does well on this map since it has room for him to keep his range, while also giving him the ability to hide behind corners on the objective to flashbang enemies for quick kills.

Explanations

Pharah [God Tier] - Pharah's ability to control the point through aerial dominance is immense on this map. Additionally, her ability to knock enemies off the map give her some excellent cheesing ability. Lastly, her flight prevents her from getting cheesed by someone like Winson, who is extremely popular on this map.

Zarya [God Tier] - This map's control point is extremely small, which allows Zarya's ultimate to be extremely effective when it comes to grouping the enemy team.

Tier 3 [Subpar Picks]:

Explanations

Mercy [God Tier] - This map does not favor Lucio as heavily since there are no ledges to push enemies off of, so Mercy starts to catch back up with Lucio on this map.

Hanzo [Tier 1] - This map has a large variety of barricades to hide behind that lead into the relatively flat terrain in the middle, which allows Hanzo clear shots of the enemy team.

Zenyatta [Tier 1] - This map is one of the few that allow Zenyatta players to remain somewhat safer as a ranged hero as he shoots down tanks that are standing in the middle. His overheal/invulnerability is also very good for holding the point during hard pushes.
