Top Bastion Combos

Bastion is one of those champions where when you first start playing the game, seems morbidly overpowered. You can't get in his line of sight without being mowed down by machine gun fire, and his ability to self-heal makes him impossible to poke down. However, if you play Bastion often enough, you quickly find yourself getting sniped out by Widowmakers or discover Genji's reflect and Tracer's insane movement speed make it near impossible to get a bead on them before getting destroyed without counterplay. Nevertheless, although I've placed him in Tier 3, he's loads of fun to play, especially when you're first getting into the game and can score massive multi-kills with him. Check out some awesome support champions that can keep him healthy and ready for beat downs!

Introduction

Reinhardt

As arguably one of the strongest tanks in the game, Reinhardt's massive shield barrier easily protects Bastion from Widowmaker sniper fire, and a well placed Sentry [Shift] allows Bastion to keep his back to a wall while simultaneously raining down hell on your enemies.

In some instances, you can even put up DOUBLE Bastions behind a single Reinhardt wall, effectively limiting any chance for a single player to dodge past your defenses.

Mercy

As a support hero Mercy also provides excellent synergy with Bastion, and can keep him healthy without him ever needing to use his self-heal. Moreover, the damage boost she provides is healthy enough for him to quickly burst through enemy Reinhardt shields and get to the juicy squishies behind him.

Junkrat

Junkrat himself does not provide consistent support for Bastion, but what he does provide is a chokepoint stun that allows Bastion to quickly swing around if a Tracer tries to pop him from behind. Finding a hero stuck in a trap is like Christmas come early, and Bastion's machine gun makes quick work of such foes.

Mei

As mentioned in the comment section below, Mei is also an excellent combo with Bastion, Not only can you instantly lift him up to surprise enemies over walls, you can also put down a defensive wall and set up behind it as well.

Bastion/Torbjorn

Lastly, another turret based hero like Torbjorn or even another Bastion works well when you are on defense in a small enclosed space. By setting up shop in opposite corners of the room, you can easily cover each other as enemies enter the enclosure.

Easiest Bastion Counter

Bastion is certainly something of an annoyance, and even a skilled Widowmaker or Genji may have trouble if there's enough defense surrounding him. However, the one thing that takes out a camping Bastion easier than anything is...Hanzo.

If Bastion is in Sentry mode in a corner and you can tag him with a Sonic Arrow or Widowmaker's ultimate, Hanzo's Dragonstrike ultimate absolutely wrecks havoc on immobile heroes like Bastion.

What do you think about Bastion? Think he's super overpowered or have a better combo to team him up with? Comment below!
